What causes Acne?

Acne is a nasty skin condition, and is a complaint endured by almost 80% of the population of America. Some individuals can get very upset with this awful condition and will pay tremendous sums of money on a monthly basis to try and eradicate the problem. The condition can be really embarrassing, and has a lousy habit of flaring up just when you want to look your best, if you have an interview, have to stand up in class to do a talk, or just meeting someone you want to impress for instance.

You cannot keep acne from appearing, but it is possible to use preventative measures to minimise the effects . For a lot of different reasons acne will appear. one of the biggest causes of acne is puberty. Puberty causes imbalances in the hormones which in turn produce sebum in excess at the glands. However there are other significant factors that cause this condition, some of which include lack of sleep, increased levels of stress, bad hygiene and Poor diet.

Sometimes it is required that you don’t clean your face with tap water, chemicals in the water and other minerals can irritate and dry the skin and they can trigger allergic reactions. If you let your skin dehydrate this can also cause problems, so keep it moist with some cream. The skin is a very fragile and sensitive organ of the body and it needs to be kept in balance.

Sebum excretion and consequently oily skin can also be a product of eating certain foods, especially those high in saturated fats. Also found in food is iodine and high levels of this can also cause flareups. Iodine is often found in salty foods and therefore acne sufferers should be careful when eating things like fries and junk food.

Adults suffering with acne can often be linked with high levels of stress. the hormonal balance in your body can be disrupted by high levels of stress, this in turn can cause the individual to suffer from several side effects: high blood pressure, increasing weight and of course outbreaks of acne.

Acne is a very upsetting condition but in most cases can be treated and even eliminated, even if it’s just a case of growing up a little!
